Michael A. Klump
co-founded Highland Equity
Group and leads its
investment and capital
raising activities. Most
recently, he served as Vice
Chairman of Equity
Investment Group (EIG), a
leading private real estate
investment trust that serves
the neighborhood shopping
center market. Mike
co-founded EIG in 1993 and
guided it through
approximately 120
acquisitions over a
nine-year period. By 2002,
EIG boasted a portfolio
containing some 17 million
square feet in 32 states
valued at approximately $850
million. Mike’s experience
prior to EIG included all
phases of real estate
development, acquisition,
leasing and financing with
Leo Eisenberg & Company and
real estate principal
investing with MAK
Investments, Inc.
John P. Sengson
is one of the founding
Principals and Chief
Investment Officer who heads
up the acquisitions
program for
Highland. He was an acquisition
officer with EIG and played
an integral role in the
Company’s growth and
profitability. He maintains
a proven track record of
successful investments and
maximizing the accumulation
of wealth for investors and
owners. His relationships
and expertise are
a tremendous asset to the
company.
Mark J. Slaiman, CPA,
is the Vice President of
Finance/Accounting for
Highland. He brings over 20
years experience in
corporate finance and
accounting. Prior to joining
Highland, Mark held
executive positions with
Domino’s Pizza, Inc.,
Delivery Concepts, Inc. and InfiNet Results, Inc. His
background also includes
experience in site
development, lease
negotiation, construction
and marketing.
Scott Tarbet is the
Acquisitions Manager for
Highland. He
has
worked for both of HEG’s two
principals, Micheal Klump
and John Sengson for several years. Scott worked
for Mr. Klump and Mr.
Sengson in a number of
different capacities all
giving Scott a unique
perspective of the business
and the people involved.
Furthermore, he has a keen
understanding of the
financial aspects of the
business and will contribute
to the acquisitions
department in a number of
useful ways..
Cathy A. Kroll is the
Executive Assistant/Transaction Manager for
Highland. Cathy is
responsible for the due
diligence process of
acquiring properties
nationwide. She works
closely with sellers and
tenants to provide excellent
information flow on all of
our acquisitions.
